How long do i need to wait for the paint to cure to apply a lacquer or top coat. Also i painted a bed frame with the same paint but i know i should of sanded it first, if i use lacquer on it will it still scratch? (i really dont want to sand it down after taking so long to paint it.

I used to use Varathane but now I’m a big Minwax fan. I find the finish consistently smooth where I sometimes had problems with brush marks using Varathane. The only way to know is to try both and see what YOU prefer.
